Vacancy: Shift Supervisor
£21,000 – 25,000 per annum – dependent on experience
For a bright, enthusiastic and hard working paddler, this is a great opportunity to join our team as a permanent staff member. This contract starts at the beginning of March and runs to the end of October, however this could become a permanent, 12 month position for the right candidate.
This is a full time, 5 day a week contract – however due to the seasonal nature of the business you will work more hours in the peak summer period and less over the other months.
This is one role which combines responsibility for 2 key areas.
Shift Supervisor.
You will work alongside a manager, coaches and deck crew to ensure the professional day to day running of the whole centre. This includes overseeing the below areas:
- Paddle sport program and all coaches/ deck crew. Handling customer enquiries in an efficient and professional manner whether by phone, email or in person.
- Public boat hire set up, (row boats, pedalos, canoes, kayaks and sups); issuing customer tickets and equipment, supervising younger deck staff, and managing cash up procedures.
- Assisting in paddle sport retail shop, serving customers and handling enquiries;
- Ensuring ice cream shop is stocked and running smoothly;
- Ensuring business is kept, clean, tidy, and operating in a safe and professional manner.
Paddle sport Coach
As a paddle sport coach you will help plan, schedule and deliver a wide range of sessions across different disciplines (Canoe, Kayak, SUP). We offer a large programme of courses and sessions which include school groups, children’s lessons, birthday parties, qualification courses and training, and some weekend trips away.
Essential Qualities:
- Enthusiasm towards paddle sport
- British Canoeing Paddle Sport Instructor Qualification or higher
- Customer service experience
- Good level of computer literacy and numeracy
- Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure at peak times
- Hold a mature and responsible attitude to work
- Full driving licence & own transport
Desirable Qualities:
We look for a strong secondary skill in all our applicants. For example these could be:
- Excellence in a paddle sport discipline or Coach Educator Qualifications
- Any leadership qualifications – Whitewater, open canoe, touring or sea
- PC Software literacy and/or website experience
- Practical Repair skills, mechanical, electrical or carpentry experience
- Cafe experience

Café Operators
We are looking for 16+ year olds to take on a regular weekend and holiday shift in our café.
Desirable Qualities
- Good customer service skills
- Good organisation skills and able to keep calm under pressure
- Cleanliness skills
- Previous experience in hospitality is desirable but not essential
- Able to work regular weekend and holiday shifts
- Reliable, organised and good timekeeping
Despite working in the café, you will have the opportunity to also have the opportunity to get to know some of the other operations of the centre, including boat hire and activities/courses. Not only this, but you will be able to gain extra perks, such as discounts in our shop, free boat hire and opportunities to jump into the world of paddlesports.

Canoe, Kayak and SUP Coaches
We are always looking out for enthusiastic paddlers to join our coaching team for seasonal work (Easter Holidays – October Half Term).
Desirable Qualities
- Able to work confidently with public groups
- Good people skills and able to work with participants of all ages (6+)
- Paddling experience – across all paddle craft is ideal but not essential
- Able to work weekday evenings, weekends and school holidays
- Paddlesport/Paddleboard Instructor Qualification
- Physically fit and a sound swimmer
- Reliable, organised and good timekeeping
- Other water sport or sport experience
- Coaching experience of any sport
If you do not hold the correct qualifications, we can put you through the instructor courses ourselves. Please contact us to discuss being put through these qualifications at a discounted rate.
To de deployed as an assistant coach, you must be 16+, and as a lead coach, you must be 18+ and will be assessed onsite by one of our management team.

Dragon Boating Helms
Warwick Boats and Leam Boat Centre are looking for enthusiastic individuals to train as Dragon Boat Helms for our corporate, youth group, and charity dragon boat events.
Full training provided with paid part time and session work from April to October
Desirable Qualities
- Good with people and able to work confidently with public groups – not afraid to speak up!
- Physically fit and a sound swimmer
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Other Water sport or sport experience
