You will be confident in considering how far you can safely travel from the shore, whilst identifying safe exit points, expanding your knowledge of rescue techniques and looking at the external and environmental factors which may affect your journey. You will develop the skills needed to anticipate and adapt to problems you may encounter to enable you to have a safe and enjoyable day out paddle boarding.
Working towards the Sheltered Water SUP award, this course will follow a British Canoeing syllabus but with greater flexibility to work on the skills you want to.
Upon completion of this course, you should feel ready to tackle our Open Water SUP weekend, or Discover Whitewater Paddleboarding Day.

There is the opportunity to gain your Sheltered Water SUP award during this course. £20 or £10 for non-members. If you would like the British Canoeing certification upon successful completion of the Sheltered water syllabus.
