Introduction to Whitewater Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding has all the diverse range that kayaking and canoeing has, so if you are looking for something a little more exciting, and to get the heart pumping, then try out our new Whitewater SUP Day.

This one day river trip will be the perfect introduction to Whitewater Paddleboarding. Based on a grade 1/2 river, our expert coaches will build up your skills and confidence gradually, working on such skills like ferry gliding, breaking in and out and rescues, before hitting some of the bigger water towards the end of the trip.

This course is for you if: You have the Sheltered Water SUP Award, have been attending our SUP club regularly or have completed our Intermediate SUP Course, and you are looking to progress on from sheltered water.

The boat centre will provide you will Buoyancy Aid, Helmet and Paddle. If you have your own equipment, please let us know.

To use one of our centre Red Ride Boards (either 10’6 or 10’8), you can hire one for the day for an extra £10 only.

An off-site hire form will be attached to the confirmation email. A deposit I.D must be left with the boat centre for the duration of the course.

Dates for 2024:

Saturday 9th November

Matlock – paddling from Darley Dale to Artisans Corner, possibly including Matlock Slalom Course.
