This course is a skills learning course, perfect for those paddlers who have achieved the Explore award and are now looking to improve their skills as they get ready for the next step. Focusing on rescues – both self and buddy rescues – advanced flat water skills and white water skills, this course is a fantastic learning opportunity for those paddlers looking to get themselves onto moving water or our Junior White Water Trip.
This is an ongoing course which can be attended as many times as you would like, for once the skill level has been met, advanced paddlers will begin to learn about leadership and even coaching on the water.
Please note, as a skills course, this isn’t a set British Canoeing course, rather a course designed simply to improve paddlers skills. There is no set syllabus, but the paddlers will be aiming to achieve the White Water award, which can be achieved if the participant attends a white water trip and demonstrates a sufficient skill level. Please contact us for more information about this award.
Times: The course consists of 3 sessions, each 2 1/2 hours long: 2pm to 4.30pm.
