Wanting to try something a little different? Have a new experience and test your senses? Our night time paddles are the chance to see the River Leam in a whole new way. Lit by moonlight and head torches only (although you may not always have them on), you will be guided down the river Leam by our professional instructors (although they do have a tendency to hide in dark bushes and jump out at unexpected moments). Along the way, you will have the opportunity to observe some nocturnal river wildlife, and also put your paddling skills to the test.
We recommend that the minimum age for such a group is 10, and this is for Kayak and Canoe only. We also recommend one leader/adult for each 8 children.
When can you book?
For a night time paddle you can book throughout September, October or November.
The session normally lasts for 1 and a half hours, but if you would like a longer session that's no problem, just get in touch for a quote.
Recommended minimum age: approx. 10+
Maximum number: 24
Staff or leaders are welcome to participate. We allow 1 leader to participate for free per 8 students, subject to availability of boats. Special needs groups may require staff participation on the water, or a greater ratio of our staff – please discuss at time of booking if relevant.
Night Time Paddle sessions are available at Leam Boat Centre.
Initially, phone or e-mail to arrange your date and time and check availability. We can make a provisional booking and reserve your slot in the diary.
To confirm your booking, we require a deposit of approximately 50% of the expected total (if the start date is more than 2 weeks ahead) or full payment if within 2 weeks of the start.
Final confirmation of numbers and full payment is required at least a week in advance of the session. This allows us to make sure we have the correct number of staff in place for your session.
We can accept payment either by cash, card, online or bank transfer. For schools/colleges an official purchase order is also acceptable to confirm your booking.
Please note we are unable to accept individual payments from course participants on our discounted youth group/school prices.
Upon confirmation of your booking, we will e-mail the group leader some information for participants about what to wear and bring, and a consent form. It is the responsibility of the group leader to disseminate this information as needed, and to bring completed consent forms for each participant to the first session.
